Real Madrid Bag Big Bucks For Home Stadium
Real Madrid have signed a €360-million agreement yesterday, Thursday 19 May, with a large United States firm to use Santiago Bernabeu Stadium as a hosting venue.
A statement was posted on Thursday on the Spanish club’s website to provide clarification on the partnership between Real’s Board of Directors, US investors Sixth Street, and entertainment group Legends.
The contract allows these American companies the “right to participate in the operation of certain new businesses” on the grounds situated in Madrid, Spain for two decades. The cash injection will be a huge boost for Los Blancos and marks a “turning point” in the history of the club.
Although no specifics were detailed, the funding will be “invested across any of the Club’s activities”; this indicates a bright future for the stadium once its renovations are completed, which are expected to be done by the end of the year.
